Why are English people the only ones in the UK who are referred to as being British and nothing else?
I don't know if most of you notice this, but I was on the Wikipedia site and was looking up famous singers/DJs. And this is what I got:
Calvin Harris: SCOTTISH singer-songwriter.
Duffy: WELSH singer
Van Morrison: NORTHERN IRISH singer-songwriter
Then I come across these acts:
Dizzee Rascal: BRITISH (Not English) rapper and songwriter
Tinchy Stryder: BRITISH (Not English) hip hop vocalist.
And
N-Dubz: BRITISH (Not English) hip hop group from London.
And when my sister was filling in an Application Form for College earlier this summer, there was no 'English Nationality' option box for her to tick, only British alongside Scottish, Welsh, Irish, American etc.
Aren't English citizens entiled to be English and not just British? And we also need an English parliament (not just a UK one) as well!
On the news it's the same. a Scottish guy got kidnapped in Portugal (sad i know) next was a British guy from England broke the record in ballooning. don't think i have not noticed.
British is just a word for England. don't believe me? ask Americans. why do u think the Scots have there own Parliament? and the Welsh, N Irish have their Assembly's?
what do the English have? nothing, now shut up and be British. thats what i feel anyway
